Acceptance of terms
By using FindLocalKC, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the directory. These terms apply to everyone who browses listings, adds a business, or claims a listing.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to represent the business you're adding or claiming. Only list businesses that are actually operating in the Kansas City metro area — Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, and surrounding suburbs.
Listing accuracy and owner responsibility
You're responsible for keeping your listing information accurate — address, phone, hours, website, and description. If your business closes or moves, update or remove your listing. We're not liable for outdated information you fail to update. Intentionally false or misleading listings may be removed without notice.
Our right to edit, decline, or remove
We may edit, decline, or remove any listing or review at our discretion — including listings that are inaccurate, misleading, spammy, duplicate, or that violate these terms or the law. We may also block owners who repeatedly submit problematic listings. We don't guarantee that any submission will be published.
Paid plans and the Featured trial
Featured listings cost $29/month or $290/year. Premium Spotlight listings cost $79/month or $790/year. New Featured subscribers may be eligible for a 90-day trial — during the trial your listing gets Featured placement at no cost. After the trial, billing begins automatically on a monthly or annual cycle depending on the plan you selected.
Auto-renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Paid plans auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the owner portal or by contacting us. When you cancel, your listing reverts to the Free tier at the end of your current billing period — paid placement features stop at that point. Refunds for partial billing periods are handled case by case; email hello@findlocalkc.com within 14 days of a renewal to request one.
Reviews
Reviews are first-party only and must reflect genuine experiences. Business owners may reply to reviews but cannot delete them. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, off-topic, or that violate our review policy or the FTC's fake-review rule. See our How It Works page for the full review policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use FindLocalKC to harass, defame, or mislead. Don't scrape the directory for commercial purposes without permission. Don't submit fake reviews, fake listings, or spam. Don't attempt to access accounts or data that aren't yours. Violations may result in removal of listings, blocked accounts, or legal action.
Limitation of liability
FindLocalKC is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the directory. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. We don't guarantee that listings are accurate, complete, or up to date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Jackson County, Missouri. If our attorney advises a different jurisdiction or venue, we may update this section — check the "Last updated" date above.
